Andrew Velazquez is an associate attorney at ScottHulse whose practice focuses on general commercial litigation, labor and employment, and business disputes.
Prior to joining ScottHulse, Mr. Velazquez served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Gina Palafox at the Court of Appeals for the Eighth District of Texas. He is a graduate of The University of Texas School of Law. During law school, Mr. Velazquez was a judicial intern at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. In addition, he was a summer associate at a major international law firm in New York. Mr. Velazquez also attended Bucerious Law School in Hamburg, Germany, where he received the Certificate in Management & Leadership for Lawyers.
Mr. Velazquez participated in the Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic at UT Law, where he provided legal assistance to a small, Austin-based LLC by drafting a business venture agreement with a large foreign corporation. He additionally helped a local non-profit by drafting independent contractor agreements and by providing asset building strategies.
Mr. Velazquez attended The University of Texas at El Paso, where he graduated magna cuma laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Economics. He was a Top Ten Senior and was actively involved in a variety of student organizations. A native El Pasoan, Mr. Velazquez attended Mountain View High School.
