This is an opportunity to be an integral member of one of the region’s leading banking, lending and finance practice groups in a truly international firm, which advises and represents both lenders and borrowers in the U.S. and Mexico. Lending clients include large banks, community banks, finance companies, credit unions, leasing companies and private lenders. Our lending and finance practice is driven partly by the breadth and strength of its other practice groups which include corporate, healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, cross-border, and creditor’s rights, bankruptcy and restructuring.
Key areas of representation and service encompass the structure, negotiation and documentation of both straight-forward and complex lending transactions as well as loan workouts and restructuring. As the region’s leading real estate law firm, we have advised on and documented construction lending and permanent and structured financing transactions secured by downtown office buildings, retail centers, warehouses, industrial parks and multi-family residential developments.
This position provides a unique opportunity to work closely with four of the Firm’s six Directors. The associate who is hired for this position will be challenged and rewarded by an accelerated track, which provides an opportunity to grow quickly. The firm’s associates in this area will gain experience and strong technical skills related to secured and unsecured commercial lending, syndicated bank deals, equipment leasing, and asset-based lending. The ability to relate well to clients and both lenders and borrowers is imperative as is a strong client development acumen.

Outstanding academic credentials and excellent written and oral communication skills required. Texas Bar required; New Mexico Bar, a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish skills and ties to El Paso are helpful.
