Diana Valdez has represented employers in all aspects of employment law. Her practice focuses on employment litigation in state and federal court and before administrative agencies, including the Texas Workforce Commission and Equal Opportunity Employment Commission. Ms. Valdez has represented employers in matters involving claims of race, sex, age, religious, national origin, and disability discrimination; sexual harassment; workers' compensation retaliation, wrongful discharge; and retaliation. She also provides day-to-day, preventative counseling to employers on a wide range of employment matters, including employment agreements, employee discipline and investigations, employee terminations, preparation of employee manuals and policies, and advice on compensation and employee leave issues.
Ms. Valdez currently serves on the Board of Directors for the El Paso Bar Association. She served as the President of the El Paso Women's Bar Association in 2007-08. She is also a member of the El Paso Young Lawyer's Association, Mexican American Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, and American Bar Association- Labor & Employment Section.
While at Texas Tech School of Law, Ms. Valdez was a member of the Texas Tech Civil Litigation Clinical Program, the Hispanic Law Student's Association, and the Dean's Recruitment Council. She received Jurisprudence Awards in Trial Advocacy and the Civil Litigation Clinical Program and was the recipient of the Dean Joseph B. Conboy Ambassador Award for Excellence in Student Recruitment.
A native El Pasoan, Ms. Valdez is a graduate of the UTEP Law School Preparation Institute and was recognized as an Outstanding Graduating Senior for the UTEP College of Liberal Arts in 1999.
REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

Ms. Valdez successfully represented employers in a variety of administrative matters, including unemployment benefits hearings before the Texas Workforce Commission and responding to Charges of Discrimination with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Texas Workforce Commission, Civil Rights Division.

Ms. Valdez has obtained summary judgments on behalf of employers in cases involving age discrimination, sex discrimination, retaliation, workers' compensation retaliation, and breach of contract claims.
- Ms. Valdez obtained a defense verdict in a jury trial on behalf of Earnhardt El Paso Motors, L.P. in an age discrimination case.
