Licensed in both Texas and New Mexico, El Paso business attorney Joe Balsiger has represented and advised both individuals and businesses on various matters related to many types of commercial transactions.

Joe has assisted clients with the formation of entities such as corporations, non-profit corporations, limited partnerships and limited liability companies, as well as advised them with regard to ongoing governance. He has assisted clients to register to do business out of state and has helped multiple entities obtain business permits required by different governmental authorities. Joe's corporate practice includes advising clients with regard to mergers and acquisitions, asset purchases, relationships between owners and management, and the raising of capital via mechanisms such as private placements.

In real estate, Joe has represented both buyers and sellers in the acquisition and sale of improved and unimproved commercial property. Joe has advised tenants and landlords in the negotiation and drafting of all types of leases, including ground leases, triple net leases, shopping center leases and office building leases. In addition to commercial business transactions, he has experience representing both buyers and sellers of residential property.

Lastly, Joe has experience representing institutional lenders, private lenders and borrowers in the area of finance and lending. He has experience in the negotiation and drafting of short-term and permanent financing documents, construction loan documents, factoring documents, work-outs and related documents.

Joe is a member of the Real Estate Legislative Affairs Committee for the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas in conjunction with the 82nd Session of the Texas State Legislature.

Joe currently serves as president of the Cathedral High School Advisory School Board. In addition, he is on the board of directors for the El Paso Tennis Development Foundation.

A life-long El Pasoan, Joe attended Cathedral High School. After graduating from Indiana University, where he was a four-year member of the tennis team, he worked for two years with an El Paso real estate investment company.
