A native El Pasoan, Michael Cintron practices primarily in the area of healthcare law, particularly fraud and abuse-related compliance and health information privacy and technology. He regularly advises various healthcare providers regarding federal and state anti-self-referral (Stark), anti-kickback, anti-markup, fee reassignment, fee splitting, and corporate practice of medicine statutes and regulations, as well as HIPAA and HITECH privacy and security rules. He also advises healthcare providers regarding physician, pharmacy, and technician services agreements; HIPAA- and HITECH-compliant safeguards and procedures; and other related matters.
Mr. Cintron also represents a broad range of clients in the areas of corporate law, institutional and private lending and foreclosure, and real estate. Such matters include entity formation and regulation, loan agreements, foreclosures, and real estate purchase-sale agreements and leases.
Mr. Cintron is a member of the American Bar Association, American Health Lawyers Association, El Paso Bar Association, and El Paso Young Lawyers Association.
While at the University of Texas School of Law, Mr. Cintron was a Managing Editor of the Texas International Law Journal and a member of the
Chicano/Hispanic Law Students Association.
