James “Jimmy” Feuille practices in the areas of commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, and labor and employment law. His practice also includes bankruptcy, appeals, and construction law. He is licensed to practice law in both Texas and New Mexico.

As a member of ScottHulse’s Creditors’ Rights, Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice group, Mr. Feuille has advised and represented creditors in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings in Texas and New Mexico. He has also assisted in the defense of preference, fraudulent transfer, and automatic stay violation claims, and the prosecution of complaints for exception to discharge, motions for relief from stay, motions for adequate protection, and plan objections.

As a commercial litigator, Mr. Feuille has successfully first-chaired two jury trials and one bench-trial. In addition, Mr. Feuille has obtained numerous summary judgement victories on behalf of one of his more active collections clients.

As a member of ScottHulse’s Labor and Employment practice group, Mr. Feuille has advised employers regarding employment policies and handbooks, non-compete agreements, and avoiding potential employment discrimination claims. Mr. Feuille has litigated workers’ compensation disputes, unemployment wage disputes, and discrimination claims in state court and arbitration. Mr. Feuille has also participated in I-9 and FLSA audits by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Mr. Feuille earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree at the University Of Texas School Of Law, where he was a member of the Texas Review of Law and Politics, as well as an Articles and Notes Editor for the Texas International Law Journal. While in law school, Mr. Feuille was awarded the Dean’s Achievement Award for Mass Media Law. He also interned with Judge Charles Holcomb of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and clerked for the Office of the Solicitor General of Texas. Born and raised in El Paso, Mr. Feuille earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. Feuille is a graduate of the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership El Paso Class XXXVII. He serves on the board of directors for Junior Leadership El Paso and on the Curriculum Committee for Leadership El Paso. Mr. Feuille is also the Chairman of the Board of Ciudad Nueva Community Outreach.

Mr. Feuille is a member of the El Paso Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the El Paso Young Lawyers Association. Additionally, Mr. Feuille is a graduate of the 2016 Texas Association of Defense Counsel (TADC) Trial Academy.


Representative Matters
  • Advised creditors in various aspects of Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Successfully defended client against preference, fraudulent transfer, and automatic stay violation claims.
  • Successfully prosecuted complaints for exception to discharge, motions for relief from stay, and motions for adequate protection.
  • As second-chair, successfully represented a client objecting to Chapter 11 Plan resulting in a favorable settlement. Under the original Chapter 11 Plan, the client was scheduled to receive a payment of less than $5,000. Due to the firm’s representation, the client received a settlement of $500,000.
  • As second-chair, successfully obtained full-pay settlement, in excess of $1,000,000.00 for a client surety company seeking indemnity from a construction entity that was forced to file for bankruptcy.

*Terrazas Enterprises, LLC d/b/a A-1 Welding v. Southwest GCEP, Inc., C Case No. 2012-DCV-04633, in the County Court at Law Number Six, El Paso County, Texas. First-Chair jury trial victory for subcontractor against a general contractor due to general contractor’s refusal to pay amounts owed.

*Protev International, Inc. v. Zanini Industries USA, LLC, et. al., Case No. C-8174-14-G, in the 370th Judicial District Court, Hidalgo County, Texas. Obtained temporary injunction prohibiting the sale of Zanini Industries to a third-party until Protev received full amounts owed by Zanini Industries.

Oroomiya Enterprises v. An and Sons Truck Service and Alvaro Rodriguez. First-chair jury trial victory against a mechanic for breach of contract, fraud, and violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

*Dalmex, Ltd. v. Apparel Enters., 455 S.W.3d 241 (Tex. App.—El Paso 2015, no pet.). Drafted brief and won appeal by submission at the Texas Eighth Court of Appeals, successfully obtaining reinstatement of case.
