Amber Borjon was born and raised in El Paso and proudly calls the Northeast her home. She graduated third in her class from Andress High School in 2021 and attended the University of Texas at El Paso on scholarship. While at UTEP, she participated in the Law School Preparation Institute, an experience that helped shape her path toward a legal career.
Amber is currently preparing to enter her final year of law school and remains passionate about serving her community through the legal profession. She values leadership, community, personal growth, and bringing people together through meaningful connections and events.
Darla Fraga is a second-year student at Baylor Law School. She grew up in a military family and moved to El Paso from Germany at the age of thirteen. Darla plans to return to El Paso after law school to serve her community and remain close to her family.
She graduated summa cum laude from The University of Texas at El Paso and participated in the Law School Preparation Institute. At Baylor Law, she is actively involved in the Moot Court team, the Hispanic American Law Student Association, and Baylor’s Board of Barristers. She also competed in the Annual Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition.
Darla has gained legal experience through internships with the Honorable Judge Cardone of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, the civilian Army JAG office at Fort Bliss, and the in-house counsel team at Neighborly’s Global Headquarters in Waco, Texas.
Karina Ortega was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and is currently a second-year student at St. Mary’s University School of Law. She serves as a judicial intern at the Fourth Court of Appeals, a staff writer for the St. Mary’s Law Journal, and a Legal Writing Fellow at the Writing Center.
Karina is particularly interested in litigation and real estate law and plans to return to El Paso to work alongside individuals and businesses in her community.
Jacob Schmidt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from The University of Texas at San Antonio and is currently attending The University of Texas School of Law.
